Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"Primer: How to Play This DeckThe Big Idea[[The Mimeoplasm]] is a build-your-own-monster kit. It eats two creatures from any graveyard: it becomes a copy of one, and gets +1/+1 counters equal to the other's power. Everything in this deck exists to (a) stuff graveyards full of good options and (b) turn Mimeo into something disgusting on demand. The best part is that it's never the same threat twice — you assemble whatever the game calls for.The Signature PlaysThe infect kill. Exile [[Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon]] plus anything fat. Mimeo enters as a flying, hasteable dragon with infect — at 9+ power, that's a one-shot poison kill on someone. [[Phyrexian Dreadnought]] is the cleanest fat: one mana, 12 power, and you never actually want it on the battlefield anyway. Skittles + Dreadnought = 12 infect with haste for one extra B. [[Rogue's Passage]] makes it unblockable if flying isn't enough.The turbo turns. Exile [[Sage of Hours]] plus something huge. Mimeo enters as Sage with a pile of counters — every 5 counters you remove is an extra turn. Sage + Dreadnought is three extra turns on the spot, which is usually enough time to kill everyone with the rest of your board.The value monsters. Not every game needs a combo. Mimeo as [[Consecrated Sphinx]] with counters is a card-drawing brick wall. [[Void Winnower]] locks half the table out of the game. [[Sire of Stagnation]] punishes everyone for playing lands. [[Kessig Cagebreakers]] with a big graveyard makes a lethal wolf army out of nowhere.The classic combo. [[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed]] + [[Triskelion]] is infinite damage — reanimate both (this is what [[Buried Alive]] into [[Victimize]] or [[Living Death]] is for) and machine-gun the table. It's a two-card combo, but both pieces are six-drops that need setup, so it plays like a bracket 3.5 finisher, not a turn-4 cheese win. Know your table; some bracket 3 pods will want a heads-up.Game Plan by PhaseTurns 1–3: Fill 'er up. Ramp and mill yourself. [[Stitcher's Supplier]], [[Satyr Wayfinder]], and [[Nyx Weaver]] fill the yard while fixing your draws. Dredge [[Stinkweed Imp]] and [[Golgari Grave-Troll]] instead of drawing whenever you have spare gas — milling six cards a turn builds your toolbox fast. [[Mesmeric Orb]] fills everyone's graveyard, and remember: Mimeo can eat opponents' creatures too. Their [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] is your Craterhoof Behemoth.Turns 4–6: Deploy a threat. Cast Mimeo and build whatever the game needs, or reanimate something with [[Animate Dead]] / [[Necromancy]] / [[Reanimate]]. Don't overextend — one giant threat plus counterspell backup beats three medium threats into a board wipe.Late game: Grind and close. This deck out-values almost everyone. [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]], [[The Scarab God]], and [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]] turn your graveyard into a second hand. When Mimeo dies, shrug — the yard just got deeper, and the next version comes back scarier.Cards That Do More Than They Look[[Wonder]] and [[Brawn]] give your whole team flying and trample from the graveyard. Never cast them; just mill or discard them.[[Spore Frog]] is a recurring fog with Muldrotha or Scarab God — great against combat decks.[[Drown in the Loch]] scales with all the milling you're doing; by mid-game it counters or kills anything.[[Syr Konrad, the Grim]] pings the table every time a creature hits any graveyard — with your self-mill and [[Living Death]], he does real damage.[[World Shaper]] returns all your milled lands when he dies. Sac him to [[Altar of Dementia]] for a huge land drop.[[Glen Elendra Archmage]] protects your key turn twice, and Mikaeus makes her counter spells forever.Protecting the OozeMimeo is a lightning rod. Hold up [[Counterspell]], [[Swan Song]], or [[Heroic Intervention]] before going all-in, and remember exile effects hurt most — if Mimeo gets exiled, rebuild with reanimation instead of recasting into the same removal. [[Alchemist's Refuge]] lets you drop Mimeo at instant speed, end of turn before your attack step, dodging sorcery-speed answers entirely.Bracket NotesThis sits at a strong bracket 3: exactly three Game Changers ([[Demonic Tutor]], [[Cyclonic Rift]], [[Rhystic Study]]), no fast mana beyond [[Sol Ring]], no mass land denial, and the only infinite combo (Mike + Trike) requires 12 mana of cards plus reanimation setup. If your pod wants it dialed down to a true 3, swap the Mikaeus/Triskelion pair for [[Junji, the Midnight Sky]] and [[Massacre Wurm]]. To push toward 4, add [[Hermit Druid]], [[Vampiric Tutor]], and [[Intuition]].Mulligan GuideKeep hands with 3+ lands and either a mill enabler or ramp. The dream opener is land, [[Birds of Paradise]] or [[Sakura-Tribe Elder]], plus [[Entomb]] or [[Buried Alive]] — that's a monster Mimeo on turn 4. Hands full of six-drops and no way to cheat them out are traps; ship them.\n"}]}
