{"ops":[{"insert":"So the title isn't one-hundred percent true. There is still zombie support in this deck. However, when building for popular commanders, I don't like building decks that are only the most used cards on edhrec. For Scarab God, that's all just zombie stuff. This deck leans just as much into the reanimator angle; you can turn anything into a 4/4 zombie - not just creatures that are already zombies. There are also a lot of creatures that want to be in the graveyard in general, plus ways to self-mill. \n\nHere are some of my favorite cards/pet cards that are in the deck:\n\nThran Turbine: This is essentially another copy of Training Grounds. Yes, you need to use the mana during your upkeep but if you are going to be activating Scarab God anyway, that isn't much of a downside. Super underrated card. \n\nThe Everflowing Well: This one gives you a bit of self-mill and is also pretty easy to flip in a deck like this. You have lots of creatures in this deck that just get better if you have two as well. \n\nBrine Shaman: A repeatable counterspell on a stick for creatures and a sac outlet. This card is extremely underrated for how good it is in a deck like this. It's definitely one of those cards that people will pick up to read and wonder why they've never seen it before. \n\nCarrionette: Another classic niche commander card with a very unique ability that is great in a deck like this. Oftentimes opponents will forget about it as well since it just sits quietly in the graveyard. \n\nBone Dancer: One of those old weird cards that cares about graveyard order. Bone Dancer is here because it's a fun and unique card that I wanted to play and it just happens to be a zombie to synergize with the commander. \n\nCoffin Queen: Another classic underrated commander card that steals creatures from graveyards and also happens to be a zombie. This is another creature that people sometimes have to pick up to read. \n\nKiora, the Rising Tide: Great for getting creatures out of your hand and into the graveyard, and making her 8/8 is not hard in a deck like this. \n\nBehold the Beyond: Yes it's 7 mana but it simutaneously lets you dump stuff into your graveyard and gets you the best three cards in your deck. I could have put better tutors in here obviously, but I think for the power level this deck is aiming for this card is really neat. \n\nTortured Existence: One of the best cards in the deck. Letting you cycle the creatures you want in your hand vs graveyard like this is extremely powerful. \n\nAttunement: This is self-mill that also lets you manipulate which cards can be in your hand. Another very underrated card in the right deck. \n\nInsight: Most pods have a green deck and this sometimes just feels like you have a Rhystic Study. \n\nBreathstealer's Crypt: This card is super annoying for your opponents but you don't even mind the drawback because you're often willing and happy to just discard the creature you draw. \n\nTombstone Stairwell: You can potentially just kill people with this card if you have enough creatures in the yard. This card is pretty expensive but it's too synergistic and too thematic (and too weird) to not include in this list. \n"}]}
