Well, Belladonna's third effect gives us an indication of the direction we should take: growing our army and beating our opponents to death. To that end, we have actual factual Cathars' Crusade, as well as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Intangible Virtue"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Caretaker's Talent"}},{"insert":", the aforementioned Hero of Bladehold, Felidar Retreat and Elspeth, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Abandoned Air Temple"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Shefet Dunes"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rosie Cotton of South Lane"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Case of the Gateway Express"}},{"insert":" and a precautionary "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Moonshaker Cavalry"}},{"insert":" in case someone needs to die "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"now"},{"insert":".\n\nGive that all of these anthems and +1/+1 counter cards (not to mention our Commander) rely on us having a wide board of tokens, we also lean heavily into board wide protection with Ainok Strike Leader, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Grand Crescendo"}},{"insert":" (which can also make us more tokens if needed), "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Selfless Spirit"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rootborn Defenses"}},{"insert":" for indestructible, as well as Voice of Victory to stop people from playing on our turns and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Bilbo's Gambit"}},{"insert":" to punish people for tying to wipe the board on their own turn. We also have "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Emeria, the Sky Ruin"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Archangel Elspeth"}},{"insert":" to get back any important non-token permanents that end up in our graveyard.\n\nThe rest of the deck is mostly vegetables, but you all know that I like to include as much synergy as possible, even amongst my draw, ramp, and removal packages.\n\nFor card draw, we have 18 pieces including Belladonna herself (I really wanted to demonstrate that White doesn't need the help anymore, I guess). Honestly, everything is kind of obvious once you think about it; "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Esper Sentinel"}},{"insert":" is here because Belladonna makes it grow (no, I will not be rephrasing that), "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Skullclamp"}},{"insert":" is basically a Pot of Greed when we need to find more gas to get Belladonna to three triggers, Dawn of Hope and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Exemplar of Light"}},{"insert":" give us an early card off of Belladonna's first trigger, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Glimmer Lens"}},{"insert":"/"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Idol of Oblivion"}},{"insert":"/Caretaker's Talent all reward us for doing stuff we were going to do anyway, and then we have White's premier card draw tech - the little guy tax refund - in the form of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Enduring Innocence"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rumor Gatherer"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Tocasia's Welcome"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Welcoming Vampire"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Bennie Bracks, Zoologist"}},{"insert":". Finally, we have my favorite pieces of card draw - the lands - with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Desert of the True"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Horizon of Progress"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Minas Tirith"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Fountainport"}},{"insert":" all offering us card advantage from our landbase.\n\nSpeaking of Desert of the True, our ramp package is small and very synergy dependent - which is best exemplified in "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sand Scout"}},{"insert":" and the various deserts the deck runs for her. We have "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Arid Archway"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Conduit Pylons"}},{"insert":" for card selection, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lazotep Quarry"}},{"insert":" for more recursion (and Nesting Dovehawk shenanigans alongside "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Mirrorpool"}},{"insert":"), "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Scavenger Grounds"}},{"insert":" for graveyard hate and the aforementioned anthem on a hill that is Shefet Dunes.\nAside from the tech I stole from MTG Goldfish, there are 14 other pieces of ramp in the deck. We have staples such as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sol Ring"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Pearl Medallion"}},{"insert":", Mono-White specials like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Weathered Wayfarer"}},{"insert":", token slop like Oketra's Monument or Defiler of Faith and - my favorite - things that turn Belladonna (who will almost never be risked in combat) into a mana dork such as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Paradise Mantle"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Springleaf Drum"}},{"insert":". It being one of my decks, I also have a Horizon of Progress, Fountainport, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Myriad Landscape"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Terrain Generator"}},{"insert":" hanging out in the manabase, just in case.\n\nI may have overprioritized removal for a Creature deck, but Tails is turning me into a control player and 17 pieces feels like a good amount. We have four one mana removal spells; "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Path to Exile"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Swords to Plowshares"}},{"insert":", newcomer "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Erode"}},{"insert":" and pro-token card "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ultimate Alliance"}},{"insert":". From there, we have the previously discussed Case of the Gateway Express and Will of the Mardu, my beloved MDFCs and channel land, and staples like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Generous Gift"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Stroke of Midnight"}},{"insert":". Finally, we have our token... well token deck boardwipes like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Martial Coup"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"White Sun's Twilight"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Hour of Reckoning"}},{"insert":", supplemented by an "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Austere Command"}},{"insert":" for insurance against non-creature permeants. Notably, Coup and Twilight can be used as Hop to Its in order to trigger all of Belladonna's effects without popping all of our other Creatures if needed.\n\nFinally, there is a very small Equipment package in the deck revolving around "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Stoneforge Mystic"}},{"insert":". She is almost always going to get Skullclamp, but in case we draw both of them - or the situation calls for it - we also have Glimmer Lens, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Bitterthorn, Nissa's Animus"}},{"insert":", Anduril and Paradise Mantle just to give Nahiri's understudy some versatility.\n\nSo... yeah, Bilbo's mom is the Mono-White token commander that - unbeknownst to me - is all I want and have been waiting for for so long. I think I might be in love.\n"}]}
