The commander helps a lot with this, since his ability allows him to sacrifice blood tokens to play vampire cards from your hand for no cost, attacking and indestructible. Pairing these powerful vampire cards with lots of anthem to give them deathtouch, first strike, or lifelink, will make your opponents reluctant to block them and give you lots of damage to opponents very quickly.\n\nBecause this is a vampire tribal deck, we also have lots of drain and life gain options. Combos with Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Vito, Blood Tribute, and Marauding Blight-Priest allows us to win instantly, while cards like Creeping Bloodsucker and Blood Artist allows us to quickly and constantly drain opponents and ensure lots of blood token generation at the end of our turns. \n"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Main Strategy"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nAs stated above, our main strategy is going to be getting as many vampires on the field as we can as quickly as possible. We'll want to start our first couple of turns ramping up. Mana rocks like Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Talisman of Indulgence are great early plays. Inspiring Statuary is another good card to play early, since it allows all our creature cards to have improvise and be cast with mana from tapped blood tokens. We also have Dark Ritual and Master of Dark Rites which gives us large amounts of black mana, and Bontu's Monument, which cuts down on our creature costs.\n\nWhile establishing a solid mana base we also need to be putting things on the field. Creeping Bloodsucker, Blood Artist, and Cordial Vampire are incredibly useful creatures to have on the field early since they will give us constant and consistent drain and counters for free. Blade of the Bloodchief and Metallic Mimic and Olivia, Mobilized for War are also paramount to get out as early as possible to maximize their effectiveness. Anthem cards like Patchwork Banner and Icon of Ancestry will buff our creatures and ensure that they are ready to put in work immediately. \n\nOne last thing to do before bringing our commander in is generating some blood tokens. Glass-Cast Heart is great to get out early, since it can give us both vampire token generation and blood token generation. Anje, Maid of Dishonor is a fantastic blood token generator, along with Moonstone Eulogist. When paired with the commander, as long as we're gaining life/opponent is losing life each turn, we're going to be generating 2 blood tokens minimum at our end steps, which will ensure we can sacrifice them to put down our large mana creatures for free every turn. ETB blood token generation from cards like Gluttonous Guest or Bloodtithe Harvester are also important to be playing before the commander is cast to allow him access to a pile of blood tokens to sacrifice when he comes in.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Artifact Synergy "},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nAn important thing to note with this deck, is that blood tokens are 'Artifact Tokens'. This means that they trigger and/or are affected by anything pertaining to artifacts.\n\nThis means that blood tokens can be used for other cards that say 'sacrifice an artifact'. Susurian Voidborn and Lightless Evangel have their abilities trigger when a player 'sacrifices an artifact', which means that when the two blood tokens are sacrificed with Strefan, Maurer Progenitor, those abilities trigger twice. Cards like Vision of Love and Demand Answers can also have their costs met by sacrificing blood tokens, which will ensure we always have a large pool of creature cards in our hand to choose from when Strefan, Maurer Progenitor attacks.\n\nAnother good card for artifact synergy is Inspiring Statuary. Inspiring Statuary gives improvise, which allows us to tap our artifacts for 1 colorless mana. We can tap Inspiring Statuary itself for that mana, or we can tap things like Bontu's monument, Sinister Monolith, and even our equipment like Swiftfoot Boots. Most importantly we can tap the blood tokens we generate for that mana, since they are considered token artifacts. Inspiring Statuary is a must play if we manage to pull it. \n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Combos"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nAs mentioned above, the main reason Archidekt considers this deck a tier 4 is because of its life gain/life drain combos. Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodthirsty Conqueror are going to be the main two cards to keep an eye out for if you want to end the game quickly. Alternatively, Bloodthirsty Conqueror can be paired with either Marauding Blight-Priest or Vito with Blood Tribute to instantly defeat an opponent regardless of their health pool. We do have a tutor engine in this deck, Emeritus of Woe, which will help a lot in pulling out one of those combos. \n"}]}
