Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"I've got an old Marrow-Gnawer deck on here that I build when I started playing and... it's not a good deck.\n\nThis is an attempt to bring it up to speed. Better card choices in general, but the specific plan is to aim for multiple MG activations per turn, producing a very large board of rats that can be sacced for value or just swing out with Fear. \n\nThere are also a few more game enders than before, because it's not always possible to push the combat damage and the deck might stall out if it can't safely attack.\n\nIt worked out OK in testing in one (1) game, so why not?\n\nI'm aware that there's not a lot of interaction; unfortunately I need a lot of pieces to get the deck working, I don't want to lower the number of rats and the deck needs a lot of draw because it needs to refill after playing out lots of cheap rats. I think I just have to accept I'm not messing with other people's plans that much, and hope it doesn't matter.\n\nNB - I haven't got Thornbite Staff in the deck on purpose because it's (basically) a two-card combo with one of the cards being in your command zone and my play-group doesn't need that.\n\nSo: The Plan\n\n## WinCon 1\n\nPlay at least two rats + Marrow-Gnawer and get on the Making Rats train. Ideally get multiple activations of this with one or more of the artifacts, a process that can be sped up if you've got extra mana from the altar. Win with draining damage, ideally via Ayara as she doesn't even need the sac outlet.\n\nDon't be afraid to use life as a resource to draw into the required pieces. If you don't win, you'll probably lose a longer game.\n\n## AltCon 1\n\nEnough rats can fuel either a Gruesome Fate or by sacking for mana a large enough Exsanguinate to end the game.\n\n## AltCon 2\n\nStrixhaven Stadium gives you a combat out against non-black or heavy artifact decks.\n"}]}
