Of course, once I had, I met some incredibly kind individuals who showed me one of the decks they where playing in a Modern tournament at the time; Swans of Brynn Argoll. It was incredibly inspiring to see something so functionally simple, yet excessive in deckbuilding philosophy. Of course, that dream lived with me only until Sheoldred and Bowmasters decided they wanted a place at the table, but it was one that inspired my Magic endeavors quite heavily.\n\tHere, I'm hoping to replicate the excessive deckbuilding of notorious modern deck of the past Swan Hunt. Here, we're using our commander Sokka & Suki from the Avatar scene box for their intense overlapping of different Jeskai synergies. To put it eloquently, more or less our commander gives our equipment spells living weapon (but for allys). It does each half of what the keyword would normally do seperately, meaning they're much more technical than I've let on, but rambling about the sentiment doesn't really communicate it well, wehehe!\n\tI've included as many one mana equipment in this variation, though with the amount of cost reduction cards in budget compared to draw in budget, it seems like we coupd push for adding 2 or 3 cost. I digress. Our hope is to chain a cost reduction and a payoff draw to ultimately loop through our decks. It gets more consistent the more redundant your draw cards are. I want the deck to try to do it in one action, so the deck does have a level of fragility to it. You get a creature for each artifact, and could potentially use equipments that equip themselves to something else on enter to ultimately vultron a commander behind it. Even then, Menace is an excellent way to get that intense damage in if you decide to slow burn your casts. More often than not, that's already a better decision. Now, to fuel a 'not only' with a 'not only', he also doubles our token generation on cast of our artifacts, so to speak. I'm glad most of the Sokka's are pushed.\n\nHullbreaker Horror - One of the ways we don't need to rely on a mass amount of equipment in our deck, but not a very budget friendly ability en masse. Simply bounce one you already have out, and create an infinite loop to fuel your engines. Extremely modular card.\n\nColossus Hammer - Do I even need to explain the thought process here? It's basically a vanilla 1 mana 11/11. I know that's not inherently much, but here it feels like the card is more than worth its spot.\n\nRight now, the current weakness is an unbuilt consistency package. I hope to improve the list by removing more from our ~40ish eqipments and include a little more modular playlines, like actual removal or ways to close out the game with swinging over combo.\nI really love excessive build philosophy, and again here we're attempting to capture the feeling of the modern deck Swan Hunt. I want to find some kind of card that feels similar to Treasure Hunt, as adding a lot of cards to hand at one time is the only thing the deck is missing fundamentally to play how we want it.\nTo take more advantage of deck space, I'm keeping my eye on cards similar to Hullbreaker Horror, but more akin to our budget, as that gives us a third outlet and removes the need to play equipments as excessively. The deck is a glass cannon simply because it doesn't politic in a standard way. Not many will enjoy such a design, and I want to try to get this working as best as it can on a budget. At some point I'll add a protection package and consistency package to opt into our gameplan and tempo into it rather than hoping for 1/2 combo parts in hand.\n"}]}
