{"ops":[{"insert":{"card-link":"Gallowbraid"}},{"insert":" This deck is my submission for the June 2026 archidekt deckbuilding competition.\n\nTL;DR - Lose life, swap your life, or just chill at 0. Throw the occasional car at people, and cheat mana costs for fun.\n\nThe goal is simple, speedrun into oblivion. Your own. Gallowbraid itself as the commander DOES help this deck's main plan, but on it's own it's far from a wincon. I mean, paying an endlessly ramping cost of life to keep a simple 5/5 trampler out? Absurd. Anyways, pay your upkeep and move along.\n\nWhile I worked on this deck I had but one thought in mind: \"I could go for some pizza hut\". Also, that self-damage/drain effects are fun in games. So, I tried to find some pay offs for such a playstyle in monoblack, because I thought it'd be fun to make this 5/5 glorified coaster of a card my 2010 or before commander. There are no 2 card infinites, and only 1 tutor. This is simply because I don't find them that fun to play. A simple improvement is adding more tutors. \n\nJokes aside the gameplan is literally as simple as speedrunning your own life total down, but ideally only after you've got yourself Platinum Angel and or Pact Blade to stop the whole 'losing the game' junk. Then utilize the handful of life-swap cards to give that weakness to enemies. If you find yourself not liking the risky no heals self-damage idea, that's valid. I put Exquisite Blood and a couple of other spells to bring in some life. in the deck as a buffer to help squeeze more value out of effects that make your foes lose life. Such as 5/5 trampler in your command zone or the 5/3 version of it with flying in 99. There's also Crypt Ghast present mainly as a mana doubler, BUT it also does help by having Extort to help keep up on life. Lastly, try and drop an Eternity Vessel BEFORE bringing yourself to death's door so you can stay topped off. I personally recommend dropping it around 15-25 life, but if you're worried about big swings or turns from others you can of course play it at a higher amount.\n\nK'rrik, son of Yawgmoth is also a nice part of this deck to make it a little less bad. The ability to pay 2 life instead of any black mana costs is insane. Bear in mind if you're at 0, you can't technically 'pay' life. This includes your cumulative upkeeps for Gallowbraid and flying Gallowbraid(Morinfen)\n\nDeck isn't good but it should hopefully probably be passable.\n\n\n"}]}
