Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"Mondo Gecko is a one of a kind Commander that defies the norms of deckbuilding by offering players a unique and forgotten ability to their decks: hacking the color identity of cards for value. Typically, we hack our opponents cards for some ridiculous ways to manipulate the game, however Mondo Gecko offers a new way to use color hacking by wanting to change the colors of our own cards for card draw. The potential to draw a whopping 5 cards per turn is enticing, and this deck aims to capitalize on it.\n\nMondo himself allows us to change his own color, so he can potentially net 2 cards on a swing if we have a blue permanent. On top of this, we have cards like Blind Seer and Painter's Servant to help us hack our colors, allowing Mondo to draw even more. Usually, Painter's Servant is accompanied by Grindstone, but for bracket reasons we have to let it go.\n\nTo make things even more interesting, we have ways to add colors to our bad without actually hacking our cards. We have several token generators that add different colored tokens to our board, giving us the ability to maintain a board as well as taste the rainbow.\n\nWith all of Mondo's draw power, we accompany him with plenty of hand size removers and extra draw effects to dig deep into our deck for evasion cards and cards that make our stuff bigger for hand size. We also have Psychosis Crawler to punish our opponents the deeper we draw, as well as some cards that buff our stuff and creature tokens for drawing extra cards.\n\nWe can finish games by combat damage typically, but we can just dig through the deck and potentially lose to that. Lab Man and Jace help us turn that into a win, while we have a few graveyard shuffles in Echo of Eons and Midnight Clock to help us stay alive in a hurry. Overall, it's a fun Blue Deck that takes out the frustrating part of needing too many things to control the game via color hack and lets us have an actual gameplan to win.\n"}]}
