This is NOT the only primer out there for cEDH Glarb and it is certainly not the most iterated and thought through. These are my reflections on an approach to this deck based on the hard work of current and past Glarb players and the collective knowledge of the discord dedicated to this beautiful deck. My design and choices are also informed by my time playing the deck (as of the writing of this primer this comes to a total of 20 games) at a regular local league. I picked the deck because I wanted something a little different, a little unique, something that wasn't quite solved yet, and I was greatly inspired by the Commander's Herald article on cEDH Glarb ("},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#c999e6","link":"https://commandersherald.com/max-power-glarb-calamitys-augur/"},"insert":"https://commandersherald.com/max-power-glarb-calamitys-augur/"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd"},"insert":")."},{"insert":"\n"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd"},"insert":"With all that said, let’s move on!"},{"insert":"\n"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd","bold":true},"insert":"Reasons to pick Glarb"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd"},"insert":" Strong value engine that synergises very well with many of the most powerful cards in our format (high mana value interaction that can be discounted, top deck tutors, value pieces like The One Ring and Talion) Strong colour combination with access to great cards Relevant body and stats in a grindy creature focused meta"},{"insert":"\n"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd","bold":true},"insert":"Reasons not to pick Glarb"},{"attributes":{"background":"#222222","color":"#dddddd"},"insert":" VERY colour pip hungry deck which requires active consideration of land choices Does not play into one of the strongest plans in BUG colours which is infinite mana generation. In a list that only wins through one of these two pieces having one get stopped, removed, Praetor's Grasped or otherwise messed with means that you at least have the other as backup. I include in this reason situations where you have one of the U forces in hand and the only U card you can exile to save yourself from a game winning play is Thassa's or Jace.
