Noble Heritage
Commander creatures you own have "When this creature enters and at the beginning of your upkeep, each player may put two +1/+1 counters on a creature they control. For each opponent who does, you gain protection from that player until your next turn." (You can't be targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by anything controlled by that player.)

{"ops":[{"insert":"Shamelessly copied from Tomer - https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/30-commander-decks-under-30\n\nNotes from the video (to be edited):\nSergeant John Bennett it's not my deck i didn't invent this card but it's like in my deck list rather um Sergeant John Benton is one of the strongest budget bruise you could bring down to the table and it's something that kind of goes under the radar for people because it's like it's a Doctor Who card uh it wasn't a very popular set and uh I don't know it's just not a very popular commander or it should be more popular than it very much is this is a Voltron commander um it has trample haste and whenever it deals combat damage to a player you and that player each draw that many cards so it's kind of group huggy you could kind of see it as like a secret rendevous effect where whoever you hit is getting a lot of benefit um you're helping that person but the in truth what's really happening is John Benson's dealing commander damage to people getting them closer to lethal to dead and yes they draw cards but you're drawing that many and our deck is actually built around taking advantage of drawing a lot of cards because our curve is incredibly low and we're actually a Voltron deck we're trying to turn all that card draw into super mana efficient pump spells so the heart of the deck are cards um that pump John Benson but also give him evasion cuz he has trample already which is already good but like flying and stuff is even better and then also protects John Benson this is the most important thing is protection so ground swell for one mana give it plus four plus four that's four more cards drawn for you flare of faith uh plus three plus three but also indestructible because John Benson's a human uh griffon plus one plus O is very minor in the grand scheme of things but it also gets him permanently flying which is great and then uh what we really want to be doing is we want to get a turn two Benton out as much as possible so our ramp is particularly geared towards uh getting a turn two John Benton and we're doing that with like turn one ramp sources like the manadors like Skyshot Ranger and Arbor Elf the Ranger is particularly good though because we could play turn one turn two you could ramp out a land and you could get John Benton and we're drawing so many cards that we're always going to have lanes to put onto the battlefield with the ranger and then once John Ben is on the battlefield we could continue ramping further with stuff like swell growth which is a cool like cross between a pump spell and a ramp spell which is really nice and then the to round out the deck is like interaction um so we have board wipes that basically get rid of everything but John Benton promise of loyalty gets rid of uh everything but one creature for each person but they also can't attack you with those creatures uh single combat just gets rid of everything but John Benton and whatever else and then since we're so uh card draw heavy we're basically the only thing that's pinching us is mana uh we draw so many cards more cards than we could ever cast so anything that is uh super mana efficient is something that we really like like Abolish we don't care about discarding extra planes from our hand because we always have too many like planes in our hand too many whatever in our hand so we might as well cast stuff for free and go down in card disadvantage because we're drawing too many cards anyway so a free disenchant is just like S tier in this deck uh so yeah John Benton is a house it's incredibly oppressive um it's very simple to pilot and it's definitely like upper ranges of bracket three this list by itself even though it's incredibly budget friendly um I think this is something that if you do throw more money into it it could definitely be a a very scary bracket four deck but with $30 like upper tier bracket three though even if people were saying \"Let's play racket four game or whatever let's play high power.\" And you wouldn't feel uh unclassed or whatever having a Jean Benson on the battlefield like a $30 Brew it's It's that strong really\n\n"}]}
