Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"This deck is a pivot from my "},{"attributes":{"italic":true,"link":"https://www.archidekt.com/decks/930595#Pramikon_|_No_Solicitors"},"insert":"Pramikon | No Solicitors"},{"insert":" deck. While there is a strong control vibe to this deck still, it does open more avenues of agency than my Pramikon build did. Specifically, my ability to dictate combat with Pramikon the entire game made for someone who was always bound to have a really unfun game. And typically my answers made it impossible for people to get rid of Pramikon and open combat up.\n\nSo as a result, I'm opening up combat with Taigam. But the intent is to preserve a package of bounce spells to manage my opponents--to some degree--then hopefully with some unblockable spells for Taigam, I can cash in on copying a few instants and sorceries.\n\nThe overall intent is to control into a combo finish. There are some combos that are winning combos and some that simply allow me to create a greater control state while I piece together the eventual win (thank you Azorius).\n\nCombo #1 is "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Approach of the Second Sun"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Narset's Reversal"}},{"insert":". This is less of a combo and more of a way to shortcut a way into getting Approach of the Second Sun back into hand casting on the subsequent turn.\n\nCombo #2 is "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Parallax Wave"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Opalescence"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Induced Amnesia"}},{"insert":". Because Opalescence makes Parallax Wave and Induced Amnesia into creatures, both can now be targets of the ability on Parallax wave. As a result, you can exile Induced Amnesia, then exile Parallax Wave. Both will return to the battlefield. Parallax Wave with a fresh set of fade counters and Induced Amnesia can now exile an opponent's hand and draw them a new hand. Rinse and repeat. The result is that each opponents' entire library will be exiled, leaving them to draw nothing. It should be noted that Parallax Wave + Opalescence works to exile all opponents' creatures. It also works to blink all my creatures.\n\n\"Combo\" #3 is "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Eye of the Storm"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lavinia, Azorius Renegade"}},{"insert":". This isn't a winning combo. However, what it does is allows for all locking opponents out of casting instants and sorceries. And truthfully, it unlocks taking even more advantage of my instants and sorceries. I will note that I have put in "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Time Warp"}},{"insert":", which would make for--in all likelihood--an infinite turn combo, assuming I have any instants or sorceries in hand each new turn.\n\n\"Combo\" #4 is "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rest in Peace"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Web of Inertia"}},{"insert":". Again, this isn't a winning combo, but it does make it so opponents can't attack me while also proving to be effective graveyard hate through either spell. A rule note here is that Taigam's effect giving spells rebound does work with Rest in Peace, because I get to make rebound an effect before Rest in Peace would catch the spell.\n\n11/9/21 Update:\nAfter having played the deck over the last few months, I've felt that the bounce effects are prone to becoming a liability. While I like the idea of using more true blue style removal in principle, with this deck, permanent answers that are given "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Rebound"},{"insert":" feel necessary. I certainly lost games due to bouncing permanents seeing them re-resolved and ultimately losing to them. As a result, I have swapped out many of the previously used bounce spells.\n\n\nAnother feature is that I removed creatures I'd like to bounce for recursion purposes ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Auramancer"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Monk Idealist"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Archaeomancer"}},{"insert":") and added some spells that gain "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Rebound"},{"insert":":\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Argivian Find"}},{"insert":" "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Call to Mind"}},{"insert":" "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dawn to Dusk"}},{"insert":" "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Said // Done"}},{"insert":" "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThe above cards are of interest because I believe that I can better create removal loops with the board wipes I have or better insurance for my enchantment combos.\n\nI am currently considering whether I like having the tutors in the deck. Taigam draws an obvious line between my tutors and my combos. But the doubling effect of those tutors + Taigam giving them "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Rebound"},{"insert":" is an explosive signal to my opponents that the end is near.
