Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"The idea behind this deck is classic and simple- make a lot of creatures, then buff them up for a big attack. It's really fun to pilot this deck though, especially with the webslinging mechanic. This deck wants as many Llanowar Elf type creatures as possible because on turn 1 you can play a forest and cast a Llanowar Elf, then on turn 2 you can play a plains, tap everything for 3 mana, and return the Llanowar Elf to your hand to websling Silk into play. Then the next turn you can recast the Llanowar Elf, making a token. After that, you just get an extra 1/1 token every time you cast a creature, which there are a lot of in this deck. There are several cards that can really amplify the amount of tokens you create too. \n\nThis deck mostly wants to be aggressive and keep playing creatures, so there isn't a ton of removal here, and the removal that is in this deck is attached to creatures or lands, so it's not very efficient, but it will still be there in a pinch, and all the card draw this deck has can help dig for removal when it is necessary. All the card draw in this deck is really important because we can go through our hand pretty fast with all the cheap creatures. The card draw is really important so that we can keep making land drops and keep casting creatures. The plan is to just keep growing the board every turn until it's big enough to eliminate everyone at once with a big swing, so we need to keep the cards flowing. \n\nInstead of more removal, we have some extra protection spells so that several turns of buildup won't be destroyed by a single Day of Judgement. The new Spectacular Spider-Man card is the perfect protection spell for this deck. It's a creature, so it works with all of our token makers, and it can be played from hand at instant speed just like normal protection spells. \n\nThere are a couple interesting combos in this list that are important to note. They aren't game-ending infinite combos are anything. They are more fair than that, but they are still fun and powerful. The first Revolves around Starfield Shepherd. All it takes is Starfield Shepherd alone to start the combo. You cast Starfield Shepherd for its warp cost, tutoring for Nurturing Pixie. Then you can cast Nurturing Pixie, returning Starfield Shepherd to your hand. Then you can cast Starfield Shepherd again and tutor for Mistbreath Elder. Then you can use Mistbreath Elder to keep casting Starfield Shepherd or other creatures to get the token triggers from SIlk every turn. This combo doesn't do much on its own, but with Silk in play, it will make a lot of tokens, and you can keep casting creatures regardless of how many creature spells you have in your hand. \n\nThe other combo involves my favorite magic card- Fecund Greenshell. All the tokens we make are usually 1/1 creatures, so they don't do anything with Fecund Greenshell. However, Veteran Armorer can turn all of our 1/1 creatures into 1/2 creatures, making it so every single creature token we create will trigger Fecund Greenshell, and Nature's Rhythm can tutor for both Fecund Greenshell and Veteran Armorer. It does take a lot of mana to do that, but it can be done over multiple turns. All the mana is worth it, because it provides an insane amount of value once both Fecund Greenshell and Veteran Armorer are on the board. \n\nOnce we have a lot of tokens in play, we have several options to buff them up to eliminate all our opponents. One is attached to the commander, Silk. Silk is really strong as a commander because she both makes tokens and can buff them up. Even though silk is always an option, Craterhoof Behemoth, Kinbinding, and Ouroboroid can increase the power of our creatures much more than Silk. Restless Prairie and the last level of Caretaker's Talent can add a surprising buff as well. \n\nOne last thing to note, almost all of the ramp in this deck is based on creatures. The 1-mana dorks let us cast Silk much sooner, and then effects that let all of our token creatures tap for mana can give us a ridiculous amount of mana later in the game. Evendo, Waking Haven, Brigid, Clachan's Heart, Springleaf Parade, Enduring Vitality, Elven Chorus, and Katilda, Dawnhart Prime can all generate tons of mana if we have a good amount of tokens. And with these effects, we can do some tricky things with Silk's activated ability since it gives creatures vigilance. For example, with Enduring Vitality on the board, we can use 5 lands to activate Silk's ability once, giving our creatures vigilance, then we can go to combat and attack, but our creatures stay untapped thanks to vigilance, so then before damage is dealt, we can tap a bunch of creatures for mana to activate Silk's ability several more times, increasing our creatures' power significantly. \n"}]}
