However, it's also one of the cheapest way to stop wrath effects. \nSpidey Sense doesn't really work because you want a counterspell available precombat. \nCondescend and Arcane Denial are great options, but the deck really isn't a counterspell deck. It only uses extremely cheap counterspells to ensure the safety of Eligeth. \nDue to the lack of instant speed synergy and U generation, this deck should not include regular Counterspell.\n\nJace's Sanctum is an insanely strong card in this type of deck, but the lack of instants and sorceries really hurts its consistency. The discount is also mostly irrelevant in this build. \nOpt is a strong card due to the instant speed, but this deck doesn't really use instant speed and rather cares about impactful immediate effects. CMC1: draw 2 is simply not good enough most of the time. You want every card to draw at least 3 on its own.\nBrainstorm is basically just worse than all the ancestral recalls in this deck. Frantic search kinda doesn't work in this deck because you can't ensure having 3 lands to untap. \nMazemind tome can trigger up to 4 scries, but is so insanely slow that it's mostly irrelevant. Even in the best case scenario - Crystal Skull + Artificer's Assistant it'll still only draws 2 for CMC2. Lands are much better at being scriers and scry engines.\n\nBusterSword and Commander's Plate are really strong recycleable midgame options, but sadly very slow (and also irl expensive).\nDisplacer Kitten is a very solid midgame value engine, but the lack of ETBs hurts its consistency. This build doesn't have the space to include a worthwhile ETB package. \nLyla is a good card, but a bit awkward because she needs to hit the field before the draws. \nPsychosis Crawler is similar to Lyla, but can threaten lethal on its own while being a huge blocker and sometimes grant lethal. \nLost Isle and Council's don't work since Eligeth replaces the scry effect\n\nPlaneswalkers are generally difficult to protect in this deck. \n\nLightning Greaves is slightly better than Swiftfoot because you always want Eligeth to be safe and Esior to be the one hitting. If there was only 1 commander, Swiftfoot would probably be better. You can probably swap some things around to fit Swiftfoot. \n\nMystic Confluence could be considered as an alternative to Cryptic Command due to the latter's high UUU cost. \n"}]}
