Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"I GET KNOCKED DOWN, BUT I GET UP AGAIN, BUT YOU'RE NEVER GONNA KEEP ME DOWN! \n\nI have been running Marchesa in the 99 in a Vialsmashashima deck and really thought that I should run her as a commander. All the decklists I have seen for her have been around her stealing anything and everything, but to me that doesn't quite... vibe with me, so instead, I want to have her play the role of Necromancer in Chief. I picked the deck theme Chumbawumba- Tubthumping because of reasons that will make sense when I get to the section where I start talking about the drinks. \n\nFirst, I cast Marchesa and any number of creatures. Most creatures in this deck enter with +1/+1 counters or acquire them later (The only one that doesn't is Mishra, Eminent One, but he is there because I wanted more copies of my 4 artifacts, notably if I make 2 copies of The Ozilith, it will create triple the counters for the price of 1. Alas the tokens don't get to stick around after the fact). Then, the creature with +1/+1 counters Gets Knocked Down (Removed from the battlefield, sacrificed, as long as it doesn't enter exile.), at the end of the turn, Marchesa's third ability triggers, and that creature Gets Back Up Again. Since the creature enters with +1/+1 counters, you are Never Gonna Keep It Down (there are ways to keep it down, but if they do, I guess I am just pissing the night away).\n\nThe deck is a bit ironic, because the song is about fighting the British, but this absolutely has Aristocrats elements in it as a subtheme (I mean we put all the reanimator we need in the command zone, really.) I mean if they are going to keep coming back why wouldn't I capitalize on it? Really, the theme of this deck is that it is a Reanimator deck without zombies or a bajillion reanimator spells. Instead, it has just 1. Right in the command zone. All you need, really. I also don't drink much so I got my friends who drink more than me to help me with the category names.\n\nThe goal of the deck is to Hit You In The Face. Repeatedly. There are many ways here to offer some control or ramp (mana and +1/+1 counters), but really, the idea is the Creature Dies. And Then It UnDies. No win the game effects, no infinite turn combos, no stax pieces that lock the board down like a prison, just your face and a metal pipe.\n\nI want to say the deck is a 3 Midrange, because it is certainly stronger than many precons, but I don't think I am responsible enough with my control pieces to make it a 4 (And I don't sideboard enough to rank it any higher either.) I have removal in the form of sacrifices and destroys and a singular counterspell (that also gives me a +1/+1 counter). I also have almost no card draw. I will say that I consider this deck a piece of art too, just the kind of art you interact with directly. The kind of art you put your hands on, or more specifically, the kind of art that puts its hands on you in a dark alley with a broken whiskey bottle and a pair of eyes on your wallet. I also don't call this an Aggro deck because while sure it is putting pressure on your opponent constantly (once the pieces are in place) it isn't really... fast enough. Maybe the problem is my deck has the spirit of an Aggro deck, but is currently very drunk, so it is trying to make its way to the board. I also call it a Midrange because my cards are all about creating value. Notably, repeating value. Over and over again. What is overcosted cards in a deck that would emphasize lowering your own life, is made better by the fact that it freely comes back to you at the end of the turn.\n\nThis deck is made fair because of 3 major ways to counter it: Removing the commander "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"before"},{"insert":" killing the other creatures, exiling the creatures I have, and Graveyard Hate. If you get my cards into exile, I am not getting them back. That is fine. Win or lose, I don't mind, because if I get knocked down :) you know what I will do? :) :) I will get back up again. :) :) :) because you are never going to keep me down :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) \n"}]}
