Reason for this is different players have different budgets and play groups. Meta is always changing and I am actively updating the deck at least monthly most of the time weekly. Sideboard are for cards that can easily swap in to personal tastes to include more stax or win conditions they are safe and work equally as well as most other cards in deck. Under testing are cards are fringe ideas, fringe combo lines, and until I see them as a definitive improvement over another card in the deck they will stay there or be removed in future deck updates. Wish List - I play in sanctioned cEDH events and with physical cards (no Proxy)often,and on spelltable, conventions and at LGSs. These cards I do not own or have budget yet to throw into deck to really decide if they are worthwhile to include. What makes this deck strong is access to the full aristocrats package with many redundent combo pieces, and ability to pivot through other stax players. As a commander she heavily supports this theme by being relatively easy to cast turns 1-3 and having built in sacrifice, token generation, and exile creature removal. This variant of teysa scion plays a little more conservative than most turbo decks in order to have room in deck to stop other turbo decks from finishing before you set up. It acknowledges decks with turn 1-3 wins and uses stax like deafening silence and planar void to stop them as well as spells like silence. At the same time it is faster than most midrange decks in the current meta.\n\nThis build of the deck most commonly ends the game on turn 3-5, and rarely turn 2. Based on your meta you can lean into the turbo naus, or razakath heavier variants of the deck and Hoarding broodlord now. This primer acknowledges that they exist. whats different is this is less of a glass cannon deck sacrificing a turn of speed for a chance to not be prevented by other opponents as easily from comboing out.\n\nThe mana curve is real low compared to most variants of this deck. this allows to play with more utility in the lands the deck will be over 90% playable with just 2 cmc of mana. multicolored cards are minimized to prevent color challenges when casting with majority of the cards and mana majority in black making it easier to have right color at right time. Besides Teysa herself you technically do not need any other colored mana to win. this is an artifact heavy build for the reason to make it easier to set up for a win. Also this deck has a lot of redundent combo pieces, meaning you can purposely bait your opponents threat assesment and search or naturally draw more pieces to combo with during the game.\n\nI will admit Teysa isnt the simplest A + B combo. If you have pieces in hand to go for Raza line or LRW win you do those first. a lot of the cards in these combos are shared between the different combos so its not wasting time to drop permanents each turn to set up. its kind of a choose your own adventure most games based on opening hand you pick path of least resistance to set up. painter + grind stone line is good back up and very easy to set up if you started with one of the pieces in hand and need to take out the biggest threat player at table immediatly. As you learn to play the deck you will be able to naturally judge if you are holding a turn 3 win vs a turn 5 win. so before you start the game knowing how many turns you need think about if you have other resources to survive. the deck isnt like blue farm where it takes a lot of combo prep and set up. its very straightforword and you drop what you need as you need it.\n\nTypical Game:\nOpening hand: you are looking for 1-3 mana sources, 1-2 creatures, 1 sacrifice outlet, 1 win condition, and 1 stax/interaction\n-If you are missing any of those things you are hoping for ways to keep card advantage with draw or tutors, or more stax/interaction.\n-Teysa doesnt need to ramp hard to win the primary goal is to drop 1 part of the combo each turn while having mana open to tutor or prevent opponents from bothering you. The deck is designed to not need to heavily mulligan. In fact you shouldnt really have to mulligan down to 5 cards. if you did you are not helping yourself with chances of a turn 3 win pretty much out of the question, turn 4 win becomes much harder at 5 cards. This deck needs card advantage more so than specific cards in hand. \n\nMost often the go to win con pieces will be tutoring for is altar of dementia, or altar of the brood. then if you have LRW or animate dead you go for 1 or the other. If not and you start setting up for teysa you will dig for darkest hour or painter ASAP. You have plenty of ways to get rid of creatures or permenants preventing you from using your combos. the biggest threat is exile. if they countered or destroyed a card you have u can find ways in deck to get them back. Hold onto your tutors as long as possible or play them turn 1 because you will most likely draw naturally a lot of the combo pieces u need. the side board in this deck can set you up based on your common meta. if you know your playgroup is more stax based add grasp of fate or heliod intervention, if your group is more search heavy oghma and opp agent are dire. then if cards playing from grave or exile a lot drannith and other stax help. \n\nTurn 1: drop the rocks, cast a stax, drop combo piece or tutor for one.\nTurn 2: drop the next combo piece or teysa.\nImportant to gauge opponents decks this turn! and acknowledge which players are ready to win and which ones are still setting up. You most likely will have a interaction piece in hand to stop the most common glass cannon combos. Also look at mana open, make sure its safe to drop teysa or darkest hour or painter if you have them in hand. if not safe drop a bait combo piece like a creature or sac outlet.\nTurn 3: Teysa drops this turn or the remaining combo pieces. you may be one piece off from winning. if thats the case card draw pieces in hand take priority. also again this is critical win turn for faster decks. if you have a way to stop them be prepared to stop them that takes priority if you cant close game this turn yourself.\nTurn 4: Usually if you needed to tutor or draw because opening hand didnt have all the pieces to win this is the turn you will flex to win on. with 3-6 cmc on the board in front of you everything that could win you the game is cast-able. this is the turning point of a cedh match where everyone is trying to win or resources for some decks are getting demolished. Teysa is a low priority threat when it comes to opponents threat assessment they know you arent holding counters. and not really holding interaction that will ruin them. The other key bit here is Teysa combo is also really hard to stop once it takes off. Sacrifice is the cost of the ability activation. Most other cEDH decks run minimal enchantment removal and this deck makes up for being targeted with creature destruction with having a lot of ways to pull win cons out of the grave or naturally draw replacements.\nTurn 5: If the game is not over, as long as you still have ways to keep card draw up you can probably out last most other decks and be able to rebuld a win state. ROL decks are kind of an ally for you at the table. you also have a lot of abilities and effects on board with permanents to help make pathways to your victory when you are ready to win in a stax game. Usually Teysa if doesnt have an infinite combo still has long combos to keep resources up. again based on your meta adjust deck slots. like ethersworn cannonist stops thassa, deafening silence can stop breach lines, soulguide lantern for grave reanimator combos in grixis.\n\nCombos:\n1a. Teysa + darkest hour or painter's servant + any creature + Sac outlet with built in win condition\n1b. Teysa + darkest hour or painter's servant + any creature + Sac outlet + win condition\n1c. Teysa + reanimating creature + Phyrexian Altar + win condition\n1d. (no longer in deck) Teysa+ pitiless plunderer or carnival of souls + reanimating creature + sac outlet + win con\n1e. (no longer in deck) Luminous broodmoth + pitiless + reanimating creature or phryrexian reclamation + 0 cmc creature\n\nSac outlet with win con = Altar of dementia, Blasting Station, Carrion Feeder, Bloodthrone Vampire\nSac outlets w/o win con = viscera seer, spawning pit, phyrexian altar, yawgmoth, razaketh\nWin conditions = Altar of the brood, Meathook, zulaport, blood artist, elas, corpse knight\nReanimating creatures = nether traitor, bloodsoaked champion, reasembling skeleton\n\n2a. Painter's Servant + Grindstone\n\n3a. Leonin Relic-Warder + animate dead or dance of dead + win con\n\n4a. Hoarding Broodlord combo lines: most likely with saw in half\nwith the addition to this card I have found hoarding broodlord more versatile than razaketh lately. if you are sending to grave to revive or hardcasting him. he usually can find you a way to get you to whatever combo pieces you are missing. with inclusion of saw in half he should be able to end the game. this deck typically has a bunch of creatures already on field to help cast whatever is needed.\n\n5a. Heliod the sun crowned + walking ballista\n7a. Abdel Adrian\n8a. Bloodchief Ascension + MindCrank\n9a. Solitude\n10a. using carnival of souls or heartless summoning, or other 3 cmc sac outlets, or token doublers. will slow deck down but more of budget options. or really trying hard to not lean on teysa for combos.\n\nNote worthy cards in deck and why:\nThis section explains meta cards why they are in deck and sideboard swaps if you dont like them\n\na. Mana rocks - Hot take no 2 cmc mana rocks in this deck. reasoning turn 2 you want to be dropping combo pieces instead of them. turn 1 if you already dropped a sol ring drop an artifact win con piece instead of another rock. this deck has a lot of artifacts for this reason. if you plan to run LED you may want to gear your deck more weighted onto razakath or ad naus lines or praetors grasp. Spring leaf drum is a weird addition you dont normally see in cEDH thats because this deck typically has creatures out the whole game.\n\nb. Blinkmoth / inkmoth lands - this deck is land heavy for a cedh dual color build. but here is why! these are like free llanowar elves that are uncounterable until you need them in order to win the game. once darkest and teysa are out you tap the land and sac it for the win. until then it will help get out the other combo parts or use for skullclamp fodder if flexing.\n\nc. Stonecoil serpent, nested shambler, hangarback walker - most teysa deck do not run these 3 guys, usually they fill the spots with doomed traveller, sacred cat, and maybe another blood artist creature. problem is turn 1 white is the color you will least likely have to cast towards a creature. most of the time you will be wanting to hold white open for a stax piece or interaction. stonecoil serpant wins games and wins games as fast as possible; he also saves games from threats like najeela, kalia, yuriko since pro multicolor and reach. he casts for 0 to start teysa sacrifice chain. same with hangarback. now if u do decide to cast hangarback. he essentially will make 2-3 bodies of fodder for teysa, razakath or yawgmoth. same with nested shambler! urza saga into skull clamp and hit that shambler and you can draw a lot of cards. even more if teysa and darkest already out.\n\nd. land choices - more lands = more utility in the lands. Cavern of souls you want to declare humans - you have at least 10 humans in deck. Mycosynth gardens is still a color land to help with sol ring or manavault or ancient tomb. it also can clone any artifact, most notably you could clone painters servant in response to it being removed, or altar of dementia your main winning pieces. but also mana rocks. phyrexian tower is great combo starter. hall of heliod gets back darkest hour if countered or other enchantments u need to win with.\n\ne. Scheming Symmetry & plunge into darkness - simply said cheaper than any 3 cmc tutors. plunge also can sacrifice creatures for life gain in order to dig farther. scheming is nice especially if u have oghma or opp agent boarded into the deck. mesmeric orb can also reck the players search if u play it after scheming. its very important to get your tutors done on turn 1 or 2 if trying to win on turn 3 or 4 so thats why I chose cheaper options. Necropotence is one of those you can flex in if you really like it. at 3 black its sometimes a brick card and might be too little too late for this decks play style. wish claw can be boarded in again its a lil slower and does what scheming does which gives the opponent advantage if not used on winning turn.\n\nf. braids arisen nightmare: this is a new include and has been getting so much card draw. most things in this deck you can get away with sacrificing at end of turn. this also helps get hand size to 8 if you need to drop broodlord, or leonin to grave.\n\ng. charismatic conquerer: new include and its spitting out vampires for teysa. this card was made for this deck.may slot in corpse knight just to make it a win con on table to prevent people from dockside loops.\n\nh. dauntless dismantler: a 2nd blind obedience for artifacts. stops token decks in there tracks and easy to sac out to remove them when needed.\n\ni. Chalice of the void: this card i have been liking a lot lately, great way to stall out a bunch of decks from winning fast, rogareth is useless and all the free rocks. we dont need much mana to win and if u play it right drop yours before you drop it. \n\nj. Chains of mephistopheles: control winter is here and so are wheels in all the farm decks. use this and yes it feeds the breach lines but boy does it make blue draw engines just not an advantage anymore. use it meta pending. \n\nretired cards: keeping it here in case they become meta relevant again\nPlanar Void- looks like a double edged sword. it is but you have control when to play it. Only a handful of Teysas combos require reanimating and as long as shes makeing tokens you dont need anything in your grave. planar void will stop grave decks in their tracks and falls to the field turn 1 when its safest from counters. Also stops breech lines which is very top meta right now as well as commanders like Kr'rik which try to win turn 1 or 2.\n\nMesmeric orb - this kind of wrecks top deck searches for all players and also can dispose a sensei top left there. some decks yes can combo out with mesmeric on field. you can be aware of that in threat assesment before playing it. more importantly it gets the cards you want into the graveyard and fast. self milling a razakath or LRW could mean winning the game. or even a reanimating creature if you didnt draw a lot of creatures. Heliod generosity gets darkest hour or any stax pieces out of grave. lurrus can get almost any card in your deck back out onto the field for a win.\n\nc.. Adeline and Jadar are very handy and at first glance kind of look like the weakest links in the deck. Jadar sets up a free dying zombie everyturn this helps immensely to build up white spirits with teysa in order to exile other commanders or creatures on the field. Adeline also since any creature attacking on your turn will make 3 white soldiers. if teysa is on the field you can sac them right of way to remove a threat. this also feeds into tymna if the game plays out allowing a lot of card draw, or skullclamp fodder. orcish Bowmasters you can be crafty and sacrafice each instance of the amass triggers. to build out a large spirit army. \n\n\n\n\n"}]}
