Counters can't be put on artifacts, creatures, enchantments, or lands.

Hapatra's Mark

Target creature you control gains hexproof until end of turn. Remove all -1/-1 counters from it. (A creature with hexproof can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.)

Hex Parasite

{X}{B/P}: Remove up to X counters from target permanent. For each counter removed this way, Hex Parasite gets +1/+0 until end of turn. ({B/P} can be paid with either {B} or 2 life.)
