{"ops":[{"insert":"Non-deterministic \"infinite\" turns"},{"attributes":{"header":2},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nOne of my favorite creations, a deck I like to call the most evil combo I've come up with. The point is to assemble a combo that is highly likely to give you infinite turns, but is never certain - this means that you cannot shortcut the combo and others have to sit there and watch you play through it (you can remind them of rule 104.3a if you want). The combo has quite a bit of moving pieces, and is also prone to error, which can not only break the combo, but can lead to you decking yourself. This also gives players some hope, potentially prolonging their torment.\n\nHere's how it works: Using "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Timesifter"}},{"insert":", top manipulation and high mana value cards we are likely to win every Timesifter check, but since the libraries are random and unknown, it is never certain. We can use cards like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lantern of Insight"}},{"insert":" and the "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Codex Shredder"}},{"insert":"s of the world to see and try to manipulate the top cards, but we are manipulating the libraries of 4 people at that point - it can just so happen, that you use all of your top manipulation, and an opponent randomly ends up with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Kozilek, Butcher of Truth"}},{"insert":" on the top and wins. Now, since you're top manipulation cards are used up already, the turns are assigned randomly - you might just give away the win to someone else on accident. Nothing like watching player A durdle for 15 minutes just so player B can just win out of sheer luck.\n\nYou may have noticed, that "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Timesifter"}},{"insert":" exiles the cards, which would mean eventually we run out of our library. To make this sort-of infinite, we employ one of my favorite Magic cards ever - "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Mirror of Fate"}},{"insert":" (and a way to recur it, like a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Trading Post"}},{"insert":") . This allows us to restock our library using our once-exiled cards. Now, here comes the risk - "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Mirror of Fate"}},{"insert":" gets you library of 7 cards maximum - if you are not careful enough, you might end up milling yourself on accident (happened to me more than once).\n\nI've played this deck with various commanders, currently settling on "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Meria, Scholar of Antiquity"}},{"insert":", who not only ramps, but allows us to use any 2 nontoken artifacts we happen to have laying around as a tool for manipulating the top of our library. This is my take on it. You try to punish your opponents for playing lands and then wipe all lands relying on your alternatives to generate mana afterwards, like indestructible lands, mana rocks or fast mana spells. I especially love the option to create near infinite mana with Horizon Stone or Leyline Tyrant and Braid of Fire. Mix in a Doubling Cube and you don't rely on lands anymore ;)\n\nThe land wiping goes on, as long as you have suffocated your opponents, by always getting a bit better out of these wipes. Or till you have a much bigger mana base than your opponents, that you can use to finish them off.\n\nI think the salt sum of this deck speaks for itself. I did not even aim to get the highest salt sum possible, it just happened by creating a deck around this theme. Land destruction has to be hated for a reason and strangely some of the stax pieces here and there seem to be not very liked by most players too. To be honest I did not even play this deck too often in real life, because my usual playgroup is more casual than competetive.
