{"ops":[{"insert":"Hi, from your post I assume that you are getting back into MTG, don't where to get started and mostly play kitchen table with whatever cards you owned (correct me if i'm wrong). Your deck is mostly Limited format (sealed/draft) power level.\n\nI will not make suggestion for cards to be added since i have no idea what you have in your collection. But here are some observations I have.\n\n1) -X/0 effects are not so good. In fact they are really bad to the point of being late picks in draft. I would replace the couple cards you have with that effect with something else.\n2) In my book, control decks goal is to have lot of answers, slow down the game (grinding) and then get the advantage (opponent has not a good board and few cards in hand) to then cast your wincon (Creature with High P/T, combo or else). In your deck I don't see enough \"answers\" to control the board. I think you should have less creatures and more instant/sorceries that target opponent stuff and at least some counterspells. As for the game ending threat I mostly see only Sphynx of Uthun and Benthic Giant (since it has heproof and help protect him) filling that role. You have other relatively big treat but they have downsides (Shoal Serpent can't attack if you can't play a land on the turn you want to attack which can happen often in late turns) (Skaab Ruinator can't be cast if you don't have 3 creatures in your graveyard and since you don't have that much instants or mill effects, you have to count only on the fact that creatures will die during combat...which is risky).\n3) A control deck wants to leave mana up to cast answers (instants) so i'm wondering if 3 Water Servant are necassary.\n4) If you are coming back into playing MTG after many years, I would suggest another strategy than \"control\" since this strategy is more complex. For example, you could keep your deck with 22 creatures and have more of an \"aggro\" focus (sorry if you are not used with the slangs...aggro is for strategy where you attack and wants to make opponent life go down fast). Sleep would be good to keep in such a deck since it ensures your creatures can attack without being blocked (almost) for two turns. Evasive creatures (flying, unblockable) are also great for such strategy. You should keep cards that deal with opponent stuff nonetheless.\n5) Manacurve is not so bad, but you could cut some 6 Mana Value (MV) spells and have more 2 MV spells. If you do that, 24 lands instead of 25 should be good.\n\nDo you know about the Commander format?\n\nThose are my observations. Hope they will be helpful.\n"}]}
