Feature Request: CSV Import for Deck Editor

 avatar
{"ops":[{"insert":"The deck editor currently supports manually adding and text import, but no CSV import like the collection manager has. The collection manager CSV import is great allowing you to specify what each column is and I wish the deck editor had this feature. \n\nWithout this, it is difficult/impossible to import cards with specific editions/variants/foils. \n\nSorry if this is a duplicate request, I did not see anything similar and there was no forum search.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Not a duplicate! This is actually the first request we've gotten for this, I believe.\n\nThis is certainly something we could add when development time opens up, but do you mind me asking what sort of deckbuilding procedure you go through that would make this helpful? Are you importing from a different builder and the text edit isn't recognizing card editions? Theoretically, pasting in the text from a .txt file from another site into our text editor "},{"attributes":{"italic":true,"bold":true},"insert":"should"},{"insert":" get most of your editions correct. Regardless, thank you for reaching out with the suggestion! \n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"As a developer myself I prefer to work with a more rigid format like CSV to avoid ambiguity of what part of a line of text belongs in what column. Having CSV import support in the deck builder would provide a more well-defined interface between other programs since each seems to have variations for how they read/write text files. \n\nSpecifically in my case, I was transferring decks scanned with Delver Lens, which would allow a CSV file to be saved (to my Google Drive) but only allowed text to be copied to the clipboard. I worked around this by manually transforming the CSV files into Archidekt compatible text including set code and collectors number. I needed to change \"Foil\" to \"*F*\". This ended up working after some trial and error, but it would have been much nicer to import directly from CSV. \n\nI imported my entire collection to Archidekt from Delver Lens without any modification of the CSV file, and that worked wonderfully. I really appreciate the ability to specify what columns are what data and the support for Scryfall UUIDs. \n"}]}
