WotC is staying away of making it a viable archetype since this has proved to be unfun (and I think you are aware of it). In my opinion, if you try to respond to the unfun control decks of your playgroup by playing an unfun land destruction deck you will not solve the problem of having unfun games. The best solution in my opinion is to talk to your playgroup that you would like that they play decks less focussed on the control strategy and share with them why you don't have fun playing against their control decks. Maybe you have already and they have changed nothing? \n"}]}

But I should've been more detailed in my post.\n\nI have always been fascinated by land destruction. I usally play heroic decks, lifgain, ramp, that kind of stuff. Its really fun, and I'm always having a great time playing magic with my buddies even when I lose. However, I have been \"figured out\" recently. All my freinds have made decks that utterly counter my style of play (control being one of them). I like the look of old red cards, and I think the playstyle of land destruction should throw them a curveball. I realise it can be generally unfun playing against land destruction sometimes, so I intend to use the deck sparingly. I will be concious of my playgroups feelings and I will take your words into consideration anytime we \"get into a scufffle\" in the future.\n\n\nSincerely,\nBusterThePlainswalker\n"}]}
