Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"Hark! Voidwing Hybrid and Blightbelly Rat are the rockstars of this simple* stack, backed up by proliferate effects and some Corrupted-based counter-magic, removal, and card draw.\n \nBasic gameplan is to get some poison counters stacked up with attacks from our toxic friendos and swing in as much as possible early. If our board gets stymied, then proliferate and poison-counter card draw and removal spells are the next option for getting the win.\n\nCombat tricks and the extremely versatile Blightbelly Rat are the resilient side of the deck. Letting the Blightbelly Rat live its best life means letting it die at some point. Ideally with one or more Voidwing Hybrids in the graveyard, but it is still great simply as a toxic body that just wants to proliferate for you. It and the Bilious Skulldweller are excellent targets for Aspirant's Ascent, preferably on the attack to get in a little extra dose of the good sauce.\nBlightbelly Rat is also a cheeky target for our Cut Down, if you end up just 1 poison shy of victory and still have your B-Rat on the board. It's hoping and yearning...you know what to do.\n\nCounterspells are clutch, because while this deck has removal to deal with threats once they're on the board, preventing ETB's and combo pieces from ever needing removal is worth the efficient mana price for Bring The Ending and Spellpierce, especially since the bigger threats on the stack tend to come when your opponent either doesn't have the extra 2 mana to spare, or, in Bring The Ending's case, are already Corrupted.\n\nGraveyard recursion is meager, with only the simple synergy of our deck's namesakes keeping you from completely running out of gas. However, sandbagging removal is critical, since the card draw will generally draw you into more card draw, proliferate, our best toxic beans, and besides, the focus of the deck is stacking the poison, not playing control until you decide to give up MTG and just play the OG Solitaire.\n\n*Obviously there is a huge asterisk slammed on top of these notes and the decklist: Peasant Deck. Sure, there are other great and fancy ways to build a blue/black poison deck, but many of the juicy additions (more rats and legendaries like Karumonix, The Rat King; Skithiryx, The Blight Dragon, or Baral, Chief of Complience) are too fancy and too shiny. \nWe need not their ilk! \nWe need only the simple elegance of Toxicity by System of a Down, coupled with our little heralds of poison!\n"}]}
