Either the creatures entering the battlefield will trigger Purphoros and whittle away life totals or the creatures will swing sideways with teamwide pump spells. Beyond the handful of pump spells in the deck, the best pump spell is in the commandzone. Bria providing prowess to the entire team means that casting spells will simply become an overrun effect, especially when considering the second half of the card that can make creatures unblockable.
