Nostalgia for the merfolk of Lorwyn tugged strong on my memories, and so I sought to find something that would allow me to use a bunch of the cool fish. The first build didn't really work, so instead of persevering, I put it to the side until Emperor Mihal II arrived and I thought that maybe a mono-blue deck was the way to go. A couple of plays with that deck and I found it unfulfilling, so my merfolk investments just kind of sat...\n\nI later stumbled across this article from Commander's Herald from Wes Stuckey, looking at Sygg from a combat point of view and wanting to see the merfolk get tapped and untapped and use all of their abilities. I used it as the baseline for this deck.
