Heliod, God of the Sun
Indestructible As long as your devotion to white is less than five, Heliod isn't a creature. (Each {W} in the mana costs of permanents you control counts toward your devotion to white.) Other creatures you control have vigilance. {2}{W}{W}: Create a 2/1 white Cleric enchantment creature token.

Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"General Concept:\nThis is basically a mono-white pile of sweepers with artifact mana generation and card draw options. It looks stupid, but it’s surprisingly amusing to play. You sit there, play lands, play sweepers, and eventually you drop enough things like Extraplanar Lens/Gauntlet of Power/Caged Sun that you can play some token-making bomb for a giant pile of tokens (with various multipurpose growth effects)."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"The entire point of this deck is to simplify the game…people don’t take 10-minute turns staring at their boardstate and manipulating dice and counters and all sorts of other nonsense when they don’t have nonland permanents. In practice, you sit there and grind the game down into a near-stall, especially against creature-based decks, before dropping some token-making bomb to attack for the win. "},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nGameplay Notes:\nKataki is the general because he is endlessly annoying to anyone who likes to dump out a bunch of artifact mana sources and/or treasure tokens…but you don’t -have- to use Kataki. Linvala is equally if not more annoying as a general against certain matchups where the opposing general relies heavily on activated abilities ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ghen, Arcanum Weaver"}},{"insert":", for example). Kataki is there because he’s 2-CMC, hits play on turn 2, and the dude with the Sol Ring-into-Signet play on Turn 1 is now 1 mana ahead instead of 3. That's relevant against basically everyone."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"I won’t say the deck plays itself, but it almost does. You sit there on a bunch of untapped snow-covered plains, maybe with 2-3 annoying creatures in play (Intrepid Hero is particularly fun), and try to gauge when it’s worth nuking the field with one of the ~20 or so sweepers in the deck. This whole thing is basically a griefer deck…you watch people assemble board states, then savor their disappointment as you wreck the board with a sweeper. Again, and again, and again. Same deal with combo...there's a pile of targeted removal that's pretty solid in breaking up combo interactions, resulting in yet more sad panda moments. Enjoy!"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\n-------------------------\n\nUpgrade Path:\nNeed to crowbar a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Luminarch Ascension"}},{"insert":" in here as an alternate wincon."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Idyllic Tutor"}},{"insert":" is a solid plan as well. More than enough tech enchantments."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"}]}
