Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"The Last Ride is a severely underrated commander - it seems like there's other things that do the job better! And I think those arguments hold water in a vacuum - but in an actual game, having an on-demand mana sink, and one that draws you cards no less, is really huge. No I don't think the strategy of killing yourself to make a giant voltron play holds much water - none of the health payoffs are good enough and early enough for this to work without being bolted in the face on attack declaration. The game will get there eventually, make your enemies use their resources and before you know it you'll have the biggest 1 mana beater in the game against empty boards and empty hands.\n\n This deck is built to be a sticky Aggro-Control gameplan - excessive recursion of creatures and artifacts, death trigger enablers, and fast mill to grant you powerful threats that trade positive. You do not care which threat they remove because you can always pay 3 and 2 life to not care while they go down cards. After boardwipes you will often be the only one with a meaningful board state, and potentially even up value.\n\nThe Last Ride has an on-demand death trigger. Crew 2 for an instant nontoken/artifact/creature death trigger is fantastic for sneaking value through removal, dodging exile effects, or just getting that value out. Remember, this commander costs 1 mana. You can cast it 4+ times easily in a game as needed.\n\nTip: If you play this like a value pile you will get dunked hard. This is aristocrats minus the class, you're here to drag your enemies behind your fiery blue pimp-mobile. Bad trades are positive for you because you have infinite cards.\n"}]}
